As a baby boomer who writes about active travel for boomers, I agree with Larry Anderson's excellent insight into why and how baby boomers travel. With an estimated 77 billion baby boomers in our population, it's not surprising that we'll be seeking a myriad of travel experiences. Focusing on unique activities within the capabilities of a boomer and you have a winning tour, especially if a little comfort is thrown in at the end of the day. But, please, don't call us seniors.

This gorgeous post reminds me of Petronius' "Wine is life." All of the wisdom, nuances and ingredients that go into making a great bottle of wine (or, in this case, a great travel experience) also apply to life. Thank you, Patti! This post both made me smile AND made me smarter. I've got a soon-coming trip that involves a 5-hour plane ride followed by a train, bus, taxi and two ferries before finally arriving at my destination. I expect lots of opportunities to practice the great tips here!

P.S. One itty-bitty addition I'd add is a sleep mask for when you *need* a nap, but the cabin is full of light. Mine is super-soft, and can fold into the tiniest lil' thing.
